    We are currently seeking a Customs & Trade Manager/Senior Manager to be based at our Wilson Sporting Goods office in Chicago, IL. 

     

    What You'll Do

    The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Management of custom duty and other customs and trade-related matters, of legal entities in the Americas region, such as e.g. USA, Canada and Latin America (scope to be aligned with experience and that of the rest of the team)
    • Extensive customs-realted work, in particular towards Tariff classification, Origin/Free Trade Agreements and Customs Valuation
    • Identifying process improvements, including the design and implementation of new practices
    • Manage customs audits, including settlement of disputes/claims
    • Being an integral part of the Global Tax Department and for specific projects, taking the leading role in analyzing changes to supply chain and supply flows for imported and exported products
    • Developing sound working realtionships with key departements within the Amer Sports organization, such as Distribution & Transport, Supply Chain, Sourcing and Finance
    • Further develop the effectiveness of the Global Tax Department througout the organization
    • Keeping up-to-date with customs-related developments in legislation, case law and local practice

    What We're Looking For

    • 7+ years of experience in international trade compliance
    • Experience in Sports industry is ideal
    • Experience from advisory firm or industry; experience in both is a strong plus
    • Previous experience of analysis and evaluation of national and inter-company cross-border businees relationships
    • Fluency in English is an absolute must
    • Experience in developing/supporting group/regional customs and trade matters
    • Good understanding of main business processes and strategic issues
    • Ability to acheive results in a complex, multi-functional, multi-cultural and multi-geographical environment
    • Proven ability to cooperate with people, preferably across geographies, even without formal report lines
    • Experience in dealing with Customs Authorities
    • Experience with tax and finance-related software packages
    • The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to acheive results in a multinational environment
    • A recognized Bachelor or Masters degree in Business Management, Law or other Customs & Trade relevant degree
    • CCS and/or LCB certification preferred
