What You'll Do

We are currently seeking a Territory Specialist, Baseball/Softball for Michigan, N. Indiana and Northwest Ohio.  As a Baseball/Softball Territory Specialist for Wilson your mission will be to drive sales and continue elevation of our family of brands - Wilson, DeMarini, Louisville Slugger, Evoshield, and ATEC. Your role will be to execute sales strategies at the grassroots level, work closely with the premier travel baseball/softball organizations in the country, identify leads, and develop relationships with Academies and Clubs, turning into sales. There is not a more exciting time to join our team than now!

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Selling Wilson Baseball & Softball products. Creating impactful sales and distribution growth within the territory
  • Identify leads and build relationships with high potential travel organizations, clubs and teams and training facilities with the goal of turning these organizations into new accounts
  • Drive consumer demand and brand presence through grassroots and promotional activities
  • Conduct in-store training sessions at the targeted key accounts that will develop product experts within the store staff
  • Provide direct support to the Territory Manager(s) in your area
  • Selling uniforms
  • Field team and store customer phone calls throughout the day, taking care of orders, issues, and questions quickly and accurately
  • Direct contact for coaches, players, and parents regarding team order fulfillment or technical product questions that come up
  • Develop and maintain great working relationships and communication with key personnel in each account and internally
  • Set up and develop online stores for organizations using Wilson Team Shop to maximize sales opportunities

What We're Looking For

This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related area.  Previous baseball or softball experience and experience working in sales and/or customer service is preferred.

 

Other qualifications include:

  • This position will spend 75% of the time in the field, on the road, at events or in the retail environment. Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Home office environment also required. Demonstrated ability to sell, influence and negotiate
  • Strategic thinking. Ability to assess and game plan
  • Solid customer service skills
  • Exceptional Service Orientation. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to empathize with customers in sometimes intense situations
  • Ability to adapt: Able to quickly change priorities and focus, based upon the business demands
  • Self-confidence and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail with outstanding follow-through and time management skills: Able to multi-task and complete all duties on time and completely with sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Persuasive and convincing negotiator, with the ability to promote ideas in a compelling way
  • Setting high standards and ambitious targets and the ability to deliver these results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
