What You'll Do

We are currently seeking a Cost Analyst who is responsible for developing the standard cost for all manufactured materials (including freight/shipping, duty, brokerage fees, transfer price of finished goods and semi-finished goods from vendors), preparing cost estimates/analysis, and informing departments on variances and cost drivers. The Cost Analyst is a key support role within the operations team and supports Sparta and the Nicaragua Apparel Company operations.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop Budget Standard Cost (BSC) for all manufactured materials.
  • Collaborate with Transportation, Customs, and Product teams to identify proper FOB, freight, and duty cost elements.
  • Coordinate with Material Master Analyst in new SKU introduction, set-up, and costing.
  • Coordinate with NAC cost analyst for labor standard hours and material yields
  • Collaborate with plant/manufacturing facility controllers to unify costing processes within Amer framework.
  • Develop and monitor cost, PGP (product gross profit), and PPV (purchase price variance) data tracking for continuous improvements to the cleanliness and integrity of data.
  • Resolve billing blocks or purchase order issues due to costing issues.

What We're Looking For

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related area and a minimum of 3 years of experience in cost analysis or a similar analytical role. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

 

Other qualifications include:

  • Computer proficiency required in Microsoft Office, including strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Fluency in Spanish and English strongly preferred
  • Experience in consumer-packaged goods or a related industry is preferred.
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
