We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Footwear Product Developer II to lead and drive the product and process excellence of our footwear. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of footwear manufacturing processes, materials, costing, product testing and project management. This role requires strong technical expertise, innovative thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with the design team to translate creative concepts into technically feasible footwear designs.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical specifications and documentation for footwear products – boms, etc.
• Source and select appropriate materials and components, ensuring quality, cost, and performance standards are met.
• Work with the sample development team to create prototypes and evaluate their fit, function, and quality.
• Coordinate with factories and suppliers to manage product development timelines and ensure on-time delivery.
• Conduct fittings and wear tests, providing feedback on product performance, comfort, and durability.
• Ensure the products meet brand standards, quality guidelines, and compliance regulations.
• Troubleshoot and solve issues related to product design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain effective communication across cross-functional teams including design, marketing, engineering, and Asia production teams.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and innovation in footwear development.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as design and 5+ years of experience in footwear development, engineering or related role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other qualifications include:

• Strong technical understanding of footwear construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team environment.
• A passion for footwear design, innovation, and the industry as a whole.
• Technical skills: strong understanding of manufacturing, footwear patterning, ability to read and understand technical tooling specs, 3d capabilities (solidview), strong understanding of material properties and infrastructure.
• Soft skills: strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to collaborate and influence global teams.
• Travel: willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.

What We’ll Provide

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
