What You'll Do

We are currently seeking a Production Manager at our DeMarini factory in Hillsboro, Oregon.  The Production Manager will manage 40-60 team members, with 1-5 direct reports.  As the Manager, this role is expected to carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing capacity for bat components and finished goods.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Engineers, Marketing, and R&D to ensure production build dates and sample builds are completed on time.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture to reduce costs and shorten lead times.
  • Ensure all manufacturing operations are in compliance with company and industry safety standards and OSHA.
  • Responsible for timely reporting to DEQ.
  • Develop strong relationships with key vendors.
  • Oversee management of 40-60 production employees.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and disciplining employees.
  • Develop, coach, and discipline team as needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling to match demand output based on seasonal fluctuations and sales forecasts.
  • Responsible for annual budgeting for labor, demand, and supply budgets.
  • Responsible for creating, updating, and training of SOP’s for all positions.
  • Perform annual performance evaluations with employees.

What We're Looking For

Other qualifications include:

  • Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Kanban) to achieve measurable cost reduction and lead time improvement.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Able to understand and learn detailed operational Instructions on all necessary equipment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting on a variety of equipment and processes.
  • Ability to coordinate, plan, and organize personal tasks, as well as production demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to openly collaborate with various business teams and develop relationships with internal and external teams/vendors.
  • Experience with standard office applications including Microsoft office suites and SAP.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to assess situations and create action plans quickly and with flexibility.
  • Openness to jump into an operation to assist as necessary.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences

What We’ll Provide

 

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $95,000 - $105,000 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program
