What You'll Do

The Technical Design Manager is responsible for leading the technical design process for all apparel and uniform products for the EvoShield brand. Working under the Director of Apparel, this role will partner with Design and cross-functional teams to establish and maintain the fit and function of performance apparel and uniforms for Baseball and Softball athletes.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead all fittings, collaborating with Design, Product Line Manager, Merchandising, and Commercial to collectively meet the product brief needs
  • Manage patterns and fit for all products working directly with internal and external pattern makers and factories.
  • Create patterns, mock-ups and prototypes as needed to explore, resolve, and prove new concepts or construction techniques.
  • Determine manufacturing product construction for tech packs
  • Manage technical fabric and manufacturing standards for all products.
  • Analyze and comment on prototypes with factories to ensure that quality, construction, and fit are aligned with brand needs.
  • Ensure all product technical specifications have clear and up to date documentation in tech pack system.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What We're Looking For

This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, or a related area. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 7 years of strong experience in product design/development with expertise in garment construction, fabric, and prototyping new designs. Experience communicating with factories and across language barriers is a must.

 

Other qualifications include:

  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Knowledge of apparel and engineering processes with strong technical and creative skills
  • Hands–on experience creating tools and construction methods to assist in solving construction issues
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Illustrator, Gerber, or equivalent pattern software; 3D experience in V-stitcher and/or Clo a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership, teambuilding, and coaching skills with the confidence to lead cross-functional teams and successfully manage highly visible projects
  • Ability to motivate people and assess/develop employee skills

 

 

 

What We’ll Provide

 

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $125,000 - $140,000 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
