What You'll Do

The People & Culture Manager, Tennessee Distribution Centers is a key partner for leaders and a valuable resource for team members at the distribution centers in Nashville and Mt. Juliet, TN. This position will provide leadership for all human resources functions and work with the management team at the TN Distribution Centers to identify action items necessary to support the operational strategies. This individual will also support companywide HR initiatives for Wilson Sporting Goods.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partners with DC Operations leaders to create a culture of engagement that drives retention and encourages employee recognition. Coach and develop the DC leadership team on employee relations, talent development, and performance management.
  • Manages the DC P&C Team which serves as the link between team members, operations, payroll, and corporate human resources.
  • Creates, interprets, and administers site policies compliant with federal and local laws and aligned with companywide policies and best practices.
  • Partners with DC leaders to determine staffing requirements and labor budgets. Manages all aspects of staffing requirements including the recruitment, selection, and promotion process for all hourly and salaried openings; manages the relationships with temporary staffing agencies; builds relationships with local resources to attract talent.
  • Identifies specific learning and development needs for the distribution centers; develops a plan and implements learning programs that align with best practices, business strategies/needs, and company values in collaboration with the corporate P&C Team.
  • In conjunction with Payroll, ensures accurate information for payroll and timekeeping so all team members are paid accurately.
  • In conjunction with the People Resource Hub (HR Shared Services), oversees leaves of absence (FMLA/short-term disability), conducts new hire orientations, and assists employees with all aspects of benefit administration, including open enrollment.
  • Ensures excellent relations between management and associates by equitably handing employee relations issues (work complaints, harassment allegations, other employee concerns, etc.) in accordance with company standards and applicable laws.
  • Administers the local compensation program in accordance with company practices.  Regularly evaluates data to ensure the DCs remain competitive in the local market. Provides analysis and recommendations on market trends related to compensation programs for the distribution centers.
  • Administers the workers’ compensation and safety programs, including drug testing, investigating injuries, first aid, and near misses.
  • Partners with corporate P&C Team to lead and implement companywide initiatives at the TN DCs, including Coaching for Success (annual performance management process), employee engagement, and learning and development.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related area is preferred. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing and/or distribution center setting.  This position is based at the Nashville Distribution Center and will require travel between distribution center locations as needed.  Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership, teambuilding, and coaching skills with the confidence to lead a team and successfully manage highly visible projects
  • Ability to motivate people and assess/develop employees’ skills
  • Ability to act with limited guidance and solve practical problems; exercises good judgment and solid decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to express ideas, problems, and solutions with clarity
  • Ability to build trust with employees; builds relationships throughout the organization at all levels.
  • Objectively coach leaders and team members through complex, difficult, and sensitive issues
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make recommendations that effectively resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with policies, standards, and state/federal regulations
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities with ease and composure while continuing to meet deadlines
  • Articulates the appropriate responses to employee questions and issues using empathy and credibility; Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal appropriately with sensitive issues
  • Prior hands-on experience with HR/payroll systems like Workday and ADP or similar
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

 

What We’ll Provide

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $80,000-$110,000 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
